Be Encouraged!

I am not sure where you are sitting but it is a very chilly morning in South Africa. The wind is cutting through jersey and jacket and the world has that beautiful winter glow about it. A warm, steaming Cuppa is just what is needed.

I want to talk about Forgiveness and Conflict Resolution during our time together this week but before we jump into any of that I want to encourage you.

From the Word…

“The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease.Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, “The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!” Lam 3:22-24 NLT

Wherever this scripture finds you, I hope it breathes life and hope and strength into your day and your week. I hope that you are reminded that we are called to be women, wives, mothers and friends by a mighty Saviour God that promises to give us the strength to walk where He leads us. I pray that you and I will each make time to sit at His feet and refresh ourselves before we begin to love, serve and honour our husbands, children, families and friends. I hope that you will be freshly awakened to the restoration, peace and love that Jesus offers.

“For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” Zep 3:17 NLT

Lord Jesus, I pray that you would awaken every woman’s heart to Your call and Your purpose. Thank You that I can take refuge and respite in You, because you know exactly where I am today. Lord, thank You for the encouragement and hope that Your Word offers. Your words make me vibrant, alive and energized! Be my portion Lord as I seek You – not only Your hands that offer blessings and provision but also Your face. I desperately want to know you Lord. Thank Lord, that I can put my hope and trust in You completely because You are steadfast, secure and Your love is endless and unfailing! Amen.

Thanks for sharing my Cuppa today!

Facing challenges

Trails & tribulations

“Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.” James 1:2-3

It is often when we are called to stand firmly on our beliefs / convictions that we are tested the most. If you, like me, have undertaken to pursue a relationship with God that is deep, life-giving & life-transforming so that we may become the women God has called us to be, then I suspect we will face challenges every now and again.

I do know this. The harder we fight for our marriages to be strong and beautiful and a sacred space for two people to partner in a life-long relationship, the harder we will have to work at it. The more we will have to put in.

Every day we live in harmony, love and kindness – we stand as a proud beacon to other women around us. We offer encouragement and hope not because of perfect relationships but because we continue to pursue our husbands faithfully and lovingly despite the imperfect nature of our love.

The reality is

that it is easy to love, support and encourage when all our external factors (children, time, sleep, work) are balanced and taken care of. It becomes a much more arduous task when we 1) experience stress at work, 2) struggle with the children, 3) feel tired etc.But it is in these moments where it becomes an act of faith.

Wherever you are today I hope that you will stand resolutely because you KNOW that our God is a big, big God and nothing can stand in His way. Whatever you are facing, take refuge under His wings.

Even the strong, bitter cups make for good coffee in the end.
